SMS & Mobile Messaging Data
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Mechanic Makeover operates the “Mechanic Makeover Notifications” text program. If you provide your mobile number and check the SMS consent box, we use that number only to send automated transactional texts about your booking: deposit and booking confirmations, dispatch status, live tracking alerts, receipts, and related customer-service messages for that job. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
All the above categories of personal information exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information will not be shared, sold, rented, or disclosed to any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Carriers and our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) process messages solely to deliver the texts you requested.

Overview
Mechanic Makeover (“we,” “us,” or “the platform”) provides booking, deposit, dispatch, and live tracking tools for independent mobile mechanic shops. This policy explains what information we collect when customers book a visit and how that information is used. The public URL for this policy is https://mechanicmakeover.com/privacy.
Information we collect
Depending on the booking, we may collect:
- Vehicle identifiers such as VIN, year, make, and model
- Service notes and diagnostic details you provide
- Job-site location used to dispatch the mechanic and show live tracking
- Name and mobile phone number for transactional job communications
- SMS opt-in status and the time you consented (used only to honor that consent)
- Payment confirmation details from Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
How we use phone numbers
Phone numbers collected through Mechanic Makeover are used strictly for transactional order updates and customer service related to a booked job. That includes deposit confirmation, mechanic dispatch status, live arrival alerts, receipts, and post-service customer service. We do not use customer mobile numbers for unrelated marketing campaigns, and we do not send promotional SMS unless you separately opt in to a promotional program (we currently operate only the transactional Mechanic Makeover Notifications program).
Sharing
We share job details with the shop you booked so they can perform the service. Payment processors (Stripe) handle deposits and invoices. SMS delivery may use Twilio as a processor. We do not sell personal information. We do not share mobile numbers or SMS consent with affiliates, partners, or advertisers for marketing or promotional purposes.
Retention & choices
Job records are kept as needed to complete the service, handle receipts, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Reply STOP to any Mechanic Makeover Notifications text to opt out of SMS alerts. After STOP we will send a one-time confirmation and will not text that number again unless you opt in. You can also contact the shop you booked or email support@mechanicmakeover.com.
